Wedderburn is a rural town on the Calder Highway, 217 kilometres north of Melbourne. Wedderburn has a population of 951. It is mainly a farming community but its early residents were gold miners and prospectors.

Water restrictions

Water Supply

Loddon Wimmera - supplies Borung, Korong Vale, Wedderburn, Wychitella, Inglewood, Bridgewater, Tarnagulla, Bealiba, Laanecoorie and Dunolly. Raw water supplied by the Wimmera Mallee Pipeline, Southwest Loddon Pipeline and the Loddon River. 

Water Treatment

Raw water is treated at our water treatment plants in Korong Vale and supplied to customers through our water supply network.

The Water Treatment Process (PDF 43KB) includes coagulation/flocculation, Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC) clarification, pre filter chlorination to remove iron and manganese, dual media filtration, UV, disinfection by chlorination followed by chloramination and pH correction. 

Wastewater

Wastewater from Wedderburn is collected through our sewer network and treated at our water reclamation plant in Wedderburn.
