We are in the final stages of bringing the Guildford Clear Water Storage Tank online and connecting it to our network.
To improve water security and reliability for our customers we have redesigned the tank and installed new inlet and outlet pipes, new pressure valves and water mains. We are also in the final stages of upgrading the Fryers Street booster pump station.
Our crews will be working on the booster pump station in Fryers Street from 24 July to 14 August ahead of commissioning the tank in Havelock Street in August.
By completing these works and using the localised tank, water pressure in Guildford and Yapeen can be eased, putting less stress on water mains and resulting in a more consistent pressure for customers.
Redesigning and using the tank to supply Guildford will mean improved water security for customers in Guildford and Yapeen, with more appropriate water pressure and fewer bursts and water outages.
A more consistent pressure for customers may mean a slight reduction in pressure for some people.
