Upper Coliban Reservoir will re-open to on-water access today.

Coliban Water Manager Community Operations Mick Dunne said the reservoir had been closed for seven weeks as the storage had approached full supply level.

“For the past seven weeks water has been spilling over the dam wall.  The reservoir was closed to on-water access in the interests of safety for on-water users.

“We have been reviewing access arrangements weekly, and from today the reservoir will be open again for on-water recreation use.”

“Since we opened Barkers Creek in April, and then the reservoirs near Kyneton in August, we have had a steady increase in visitors to our reservoirs.  We expect this number to continue to grow as the weather warms up,” Mr Dunne said.
