DO NOT DRINK TAP WATER ADVISORY IS NOW LIFTED – ELMORE LOCALITY

Coliban Water, following consultation with the Department of Health, advises customers that the Do Not Drink Tap Water advisory in the Elmore locality, issued at 1.30pm Monday 25 December, is now lifted. The water is safe to drink.
The Do Not Drink Tap Water advisory was issued following an issue at Coliban Water’s Elmore Water Treatment Plant, which caused the town’s clear water storage tank to run dry.
The Advisory is now lifted as corrective actions have been completed. Chlorine was added to the water supply while the network was flushed, and water quality testing was completed which has confirmed the water supply is safe. The Elmore Water Treatment Plant has restored normal operations. At the lifting of this advisory we will no longer add chlorine to the network.
We recommend that customers flush internal taps for two minutes to draw fresh water into their internal plumbing.
