Boil Water Advisory now lifted - Cohuna

The water in Cohuna is safe to drink.

Coliban Water, following consultation with the Department of Health, is advising impacted customers that the Boil Water Advisory issued on Thursday 10 November 2022 is now lifted for Cohuna.

On 8 November we stopped providing water to some of our ‘supply by agreement’ customers to secure drinking water supplies in preparation for any possible impacts to our Cohuna Water Treatment Plant from poor raw water quality. The decision to stop providing water to ‘supply by agreement’ customers resulted in lost pressure within the affected network and we may have had ingress.

The Advisory is now lifted after flushing the supply system. Water quality testing has confirmed the water supply is safe.

We recommend customers flush internal taps for two minutes to draw fresh water into their internal plumbing.

Customers are being notified via a doorknock from Coliban Water, and SMS that the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted. We are also providing information on our website and through our social media accounts, and distribution to local media.

Information about the affected areas within Cohuna (maps) is available on our website.

Customers can visit www.coliban.com.au or call 1300 363 200 for more information.
