Some Coliban Water customers will receive credits on their bills to make things a little easier in the flood clean-up and recovery process.

Managing Director Damian Wells said the wet weather events in October had widespread impacts on the communities Coliban Water serves. 

“We recognise the challenges some of our customers are facing, that’s why financial assistance is being provided on some water bills,” he said.

In the significantly flooded towns of Rochester and Echuca, all customers will receive either a:
•    $600 credit if they experienced flooding above floor level in the primary dwelling on the property; or 
•    $300 credit in recognition of the widespread flooding impacts to their town and communities.

“For customers in Tylden, Axedale and Mysia, a $300 credit will be applied in recognition of significant disruption to water and sewer services,” Mr Wells said.

For all other areas across our region where flooding was localised to specific properties, customers may be eligible for a $600 credit if flooding has been experienced above floor level in the primary dwelling on the property. 

“There is no action needed by customers, as the credit will be automatically applied to eligible customers’ accounts,” he said.

Coliban Water teams continue to work through the impacts to sewer and water services throughout our region impacted by floodwaters.

“It’s been a marathon effort by our staff and contractors to ensure all sewer and water networks are restored and fully operational and I want to thank them for their commitment to providing these essential services for our customers.
