Troy Firebrace was appointed to the board on 1 October 2026.
Troy Firebrace is a Yorta Yorta and Dja Dja Wurrung artist, educator, cultural practitioner and experienced Aboriginal leader. He has demonstrated governance experience through his previous role as a Board Member of Kaiela Arts, where he contributed to strategic planning, operational policy, financial oversight and organisational restructuring. He currently works with the Dja Dja Wurrung Cultural Heritage Team, providing cultural protocol, community and engagement expertise.
Troy brings together cultural authority, creative practice, governance experience and education expertise, providing a valuable Aboriginal perspective to organisational strategy, community engagement, environmental and water governance, and culturally informed decision-making.
