Coliban Water has launched a new online engagement platform called Connect Coliban, making it easier for communities and stakeholders to have their say.

Executive General Manager Customer, Community and Stakeholder Affairs Lauren McLean looks forward to the opportunity to further connect with communities and broaden discussions within this easy-to-use online environment.

“Connect Coliban is a whole new way for us to interact with our communities. It’s a place to share ideas, learn about current projects and initiatives, ask questions, provide feedback and contribute to plans for our region’s water future.

“It’s a two-way dialogue that will allow us to really listen to community members and better understand their needs and values.

“We are funded by our customers and it is important for customers to have a say in the future of their towns and regions,” Mrs McLean said.

The site at connect.coliban.com.au allows the user to ‘follow’ a project, fill out surveys, watch videos or simply read more about current Coliban Water projects.

By registering as a member, participants can join in forums and contribute to water and wastewater projects in their area; having a direct affect on the future of their town.

“We know the way people want to connect with us is changing and this has become more apparent through the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“This site will be an innovative hub for information and engagement opportunities – and one that encourages participation,” Mrs McLean said.

Connecting with Coliban Water will also extend beyond the online platform.

“Connect Coliban is just one of the many ways we connect with the community. We visit communities through Community Pop-Ups throughout the year, and we encourage our community members to come along.

“Members of the community are reminded to practice physical distancing at any Community Pop Up and help our events remain COVID safe.

“Not only is it a great way to learn more about their water, but it gives our customers the opportunity to help plan their water future and contribute to the projects we plan and undertake. This includes current major projects such as our Urban Water Strategy and our Pricing Submission 2023,” she said.

Visit connect.coliban.com.au to join the online community and find out the latest coronavirus (COVID-19) information from coronavirus.vic.gov.au.
