Trade restrictions

There are a variety of trade restrictions that have applied to water trades in the Coliban Water Rural System for some years.

These are summed up in the Coliban Water Trading Rules document (PDF 35KB).

The key points are as follows:

> All water trades must happen between parties that are Bundled Entitlement Entities in the Victorian Water Register;

> All water trades must remain within the Coliban Water Rural System.

> All water trades are subject to system capacity restrictions.

> All water volume in the Harcourt Rural Modernised Pipeline system has a exit fee attached if traded out of this system or surrendered back to Coliban Water.

As of July 1 2014 all water trade restrictions will need to be approved by the Murray-Darling Basin Authority.
