> Stage 4 General Exemption

From October 1, a general exemption will exist for all urban residential customers in the Coliban System to use a hand-held hose with trigger nozzle to water up to two hours each week on specified days and times.

As of April 6, 2008 the permitted watering hour is between 6pm and 7pm. Odd numbered properties can water Sundays and Wednesdays and even and un-numbered properties can water on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

The exemption applies only to:

> Coliban System customers in the Bendigo, Castlemaine, Kyneton and Heathcote areas

>Pools and spas

Under the requirements of water restrictions a customer wanting to fill a new or existing pool or spa with a capacity of 2000 litres or more is required to submit a Water Conservation Plan to Coliban Water for approval.

>Water Carter Permit

A water carter permit is required to take water from a public standpipe if the standpipe is in an area under Water Restrictions ByLaw No 9. Commercial water carters and private individuals must have a permit. To find out more about standpipes in our region and water carter permits > click here
