> Our region's water supplies
Coliban Water is one of the larger Victorian regional urban water authorities, with an area of responsibility covering approximately 20% of Victoria. We manage, maintain and operate over 50 reservoirs and water storage basins across North-Central Victoria. Raw water is sourced from five individual systems the Coliban/Campaspe, Wimmera, Loddon, Goulburn, Murray and Groundwater. Coliban Water has 21 water treatment plants providing potable water to 44 separate water sampling localities and population of approximately 130,000.

The 2004 Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) have been developed by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) in collaboration with the Natural Resource Management Ministerial Council (NRMMC).
The ADWG incorporates the "Framework for the Management of Drinking Water Quality" and provides the Australian community and the water supply industry with guidance on what constitutes good quality drinking water.
The ADWG and supporting documents are on the Australian Government - National Health and Medical Research Council website.

Many customers are interested in information about fluoride. In the Coliban Water Region fluoride is currently added to drinking water supplies at Bendigo, Echuca and Kyneton. The Department of Human Services (DHS) is the responsible authority in regards to information about fluoridation of water supplies in Victoria. The Water Fluoridation information line is 1800 651 723. Detailed information on fluroridation is also available on the DHS website. The DHS website has:
