- A significant re-balance of our renewable Vs non-renewable sourced energy;
- A significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions;
- Targeted energy consumption reduction where equipment efficiencies can be gained;
- A capital program that identifies energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions as a significant environmental impact and accounts for changes in our energy management portfolio;
- An informed regional community through transparent public reporting and proactive communication efforts that account for total energy use and offsets as well as our greenhouse gas emissions and our progress towards their reduction; and

|
- Developing and implementing the Greener Office Strategy
(The strategy has a strong focus on solid waste minimization and recycling,
as evidenced by the comprehensive recycling stations around the office building. It
also considers water use and energy efficiency)
Developed targets for energy efficiency in the office
Initiated the development of an energy efficiency plan
|
- Being a committed member of Australian Greenhouse Office’s Greenhous Challenge Program
Through which the following actions were implemented at the Bendigo
Water Reclamation Plant:
Demand Management
Installation of Power Factor Correction Equipment
Initiation of a Motor Selection Program
Investigations to improving aerator control
|
- Revised Capital Investment Procedures
Asset energy cost began to be considered within the NPV analysis in early 2006.
|
- Coliban Water’s Environmental Management System.
Response to Government requests for energy savings
Coliban Water responded to a request from the Department of Sustainability and
Environment (DSE) to consider ways to reduce electricity demand during periods of
