This Act outlines how EPA goes about protecting the environment and brings together the management of the whole environment; air, water and land together. EPA monitors industry to ensure that companies are being environmentally responsible. It works with other agencies to ensure residents are protected from excessive noise – from industry, motor sports and entertainment places. Enforcement action is taken when necessary to ensure industries comply with these environment standards. EPA also conducts research into environmental issues and monitors the environment in Victoria, so that we can all work towards a better environment. Community Education and the provision of information to communities and individuals is also an integral part of EPA's work. Website link: www.epa.vic.gov.au Councils
