An integral part of providing efficient water and wastewater services is the recognition of our dependence upon and responsibility for the natural environment. Coliban Water takes this responsibility seriously.
Environmental sustainability in the Coliban Water context covers:
- intergenerational equity;
- polluter and user pay principles;
- pollution prevention;
- ecological design;
- life-cycle responsibilities; and
- adaptive management approaches.
Coliban Water is committed to undertaking effective environmental risk management for all of our activities and to developing our environmental management system. This enables our work practices and procurement procedures to be more environmentally conscious. A number of initiatives are underway that begin to consider and address these sustainability principles and this information can be accessed by clicking your mouse on the tabs to the left. |
