Restricted Channels

Coliban Water has declared some channels and pipelines to be restricted.  These channels and pipelines supply water to about 12% of customers and have classed as restricted for one or more of the following reasons:

  • Very low delivery efficiency
  • High public risk
  • Urban encroachment
  • Low economic viability

If you are a customer on a restricted channel or pipeline then you may not permanently increase your licence volume.  You may temporarily transfer water to and from anywhere else in the system.

The restricted channels and pipeline are:

  • Trust channel downstream of outlet 49
  • Sparrowhawk channel
  • Ironstone Hill channel
  • Poverty Gully channel
  • Jackass Flat channel
  • Campbells Creek channel
  • Emu Valley No. 1 channel

                 - downstream of Sheepwash Creek

  • Ascot channel
      - upstream of Huntly channel offtake
  • Eagles channel
      - downstream of outlet 59
  • Axe Creek channel
    - upstream of McIvor Road
  • Warrens channel
    - downstream of outlwt 163
  • Huntly channel
