A $225,000 lagoon de-sludging program that will protect recycled water quality and manage long-term odour control has commenced this month at the Heathcote and Bendigo Water Reclamation Plants (WRP).

Approximately 286 kilolitres of water was lost from a burst 200mm water main in Lakeview Street, Boort Wednesday afternoon. 13 customers were without water for up to five hours.

Approximately 25,000 litres of sewerage spilled into a 500 metre section of Bendigo Creek last night as a result of an overflow from a sewer manhole. There was no water in Bendigo Creek at the time of the spill.
