Watersaurus Shower Saver Challenge |
 |
Challenge your students to become Coliban Watersaurus Shower Saver Challenge Super Savers!
Designed for grades 3-6 primary school students this program was initially delivered to around sixty schools in the Coliban Water region during 2007.
The Shower Saver Challenge has been developed by Coliban Water to assist in educating children in grades 3 to 6 about the value of water and the ways in which they personally can make a real difference in saving water, particularly by shortening their time in the shower.
The Shower Saver Challenge is now being offered as an ongoing activity as part of Coliban Water's education program. The Challenge can be conducted as a 'stand alone' activity or used to support a water conservation or sustainability theme in your classroom.
Coliban Water will provide all materials:
- Teachers' guides which outline the project and contain suggested VELS curriculum links, extension problems, glossary for water units, useful websites and contacts;
- Shower timers with accompanying record sheets and notes for the students;
- Laminated '20 Ways to Save Water' A3 size poster for each participating classroom.
A Coliban Water staff member will be available to provide an introductory presentation to students.
For more information and to register your interest contact Coliban Water, Public Affairs on 1300 363 200 or email Public Affairs.
